[問題] 想請問這個UC-Revierside的Personal Statement History的essay的意思?

大家好~我知道現在問這問題有點晚,但是因為UC Revierside有秋季班/冬季班/
春季班,我都不在乎,故現在仍會繼續申請,想請問其中的Personal Statement History的essay是什麼意思呢? 我真的很霧裡看花,不知道怎樣寫~
可以請有經驗的人解釋一下嗎? 還有下筆的tips!感恩~~~~(ps

In an essay, discuss how your personal background informs your decision to pursue a graduate degree. Please include any
educational, familial, cultural, economic, or social experiences, challenges, or opportunities relevant to your academic journey; how you might contribute to social or cultural diversity
within your chosen field; and/or how you might serve
educationally underrepresented segments of society with your degree.

這題有三小題
第一部份是動機題
在您的生涯歷程中
是什麼環境因素造成您想進修的動機
而這些外在因素不外乎是教育,家庭,文化,經濟...等等
這些可以個別討論也可以綜合討論
但重點是講出這些因素如何影響您產生進修動機

例如: 即使受了大學教育
工作數年後仍因xx瓶頸而需要進階管理教育來提升事業發展
同時因為家庭經濟因素與xx困境
造成需要用如此投資來換取未來更高能力與價值

第二部份是貢獻題
在您計劃主修的領域中
您要如何貢獻您的多元性
可由您的工作經驗,年資,亞洲或華人文化,語言,專長成就...等來作發揮

第三部份是社會責任題
文意有點ambiguity
應該是問您要如何將您的學位所學貢獻給不易得到教育的少數民族
例如:可以從事些公益教育活動協助偏遠地區或原住民等

謝謝david大的詳細回覆,這是我碰到最難回答的學校之ㄧ,我算是了解題目了,不過真難下筆啊!!!
另外我想請問同校的SOP其中幾點
Statement of Purpose
Please state your specific interests with respect to the program to which you are applying. The following information should be included in this statement:
1. Your intended area of specialization, career objectives, and research interests and experience.
2. A brief occupational resume if any significant period has elapsed since you were last enrolled in an academic institution.
3. Academic awards, prizes, honors, fellowships or other distinctions you have received.
4. Work experience or activities pertinent to your graduate goals.
5. If pertinent to your proposed field of study, please list your publications and any scholarly or professional organizations in which you hold membership.
其中第2點,是要我敘述我的工作經歷嗎? 還有第3點與第5點,我若真的沒有要直說嗎?還是略而不談~

第二點是若現在到跟上一個學歷間有幾年的間隔
請提供一份履歷表

第三跟第五沒有的話就說沒有
不然學校會問你是不是遺漏

從題目與SOP format可以了解到這是間研究導向學校
如果是要進修MBA要知道這兩個走向會截然不同

感謝David大的回覆~根據您所言~這學校是以"學術"為導向~那是否意味著若很有工作經驗的人較不合適? 因為它強調的是學術,
而非與業界結合呢?若是的話~那我便要考慮要不要繼續申請這所學校了~~!!

SOP裡的問題都是給學術研究的申請人寫的
第一題的research interests
第二題的any significant period has elapsed指出原本應該大學畢業就直接進修的
第三題問的學術獎項
及第五題的學術著作與研究機構會員身分等

即使有工作經驗也是為了與學術研究結合
跟樓主的多年實務經驗大異其趣
原則上樓主要念的是MBA
會要寫的是essay
題目主要都是在問事業目標, 領導經驗, 團隊合作, 與事業成就或教訓等等
原則上MBA是設計給工作五年以上的儲備主管所唸的
跟這裡的MS鼓勵從大學畢業直接進修是兩個完全不同目的導向

恩!我經你的提醒有發現到這點~我也可能放棄這間學校了~~~因為我是重實務加上也有學校是重實務與課程結合的................我要的是這種喔!!!我也有找到好幾間是重視這種的
我是要唸MBA以後我還要回台灣工作咧!!!!工作資歷多也不過就是resume學校要求兩頁而我怎樣都需要寫到三頁滿~~~~呵呵!!!
