I'm happy for you, but everything has a beginning. Assuming u know this person from before, I just don't believe anyone can convince a stranger to offer u a job within 30 seconds. Do you mind to share the story with us?

There should be some other details in this story. As I read David's article, the reaction from David was pretty passive with only "great", "excited" during the conversation. I didn't see any "skills" shown as David claimed that a career manager should have. Would you mind elaborating more?

it's just a opening of a story
I'll share this as soon as I have time

long story short
it's about long-term personal branding
the key to this unexpected chance is
business people are always seeking and sniffing for opportunities and suitable partners
they'll observe you anytime, anywhere
You need to be very clear about what you're doing and what will you do for long-term
then "brand" yourself in a consistent fashion
executives may not even need to read your resume
since they know your capacity in your every move

what I try to express is
recruiter may already make decision before they interview you
and in this case
there's no interview at all
how to convince executives you're the right person to be partnered with
in your natural daily behavior

the simple story is this boss is a professor
I took his class but didn't perform well and he gave me a "B"
I wasn't familar with this professor at all, either
and that's the main reason I want to share this story
our team presentation and report sucked
and I don't like this class
almost two-third of time in this class was listening to speech after speech from endless quest speakers
professor didn't teach much
most of time I'm quite also

but eventually I got a job surprisingly
and I'll share how to brand yourself soon
