不過我想畢業後的就業是最重要的
我想在美國工作幾年
所以想知道
針對國際學生而言
想請問有人知道這個科系在美國的就業情況如何嗎

還有........ROSCHESTER會很偏僻嗎

Like many schools, Rochester will probably allow you to find a corporate job in the US in what one would call a "mid office/back office capacity."

It is highly unlikely that you will find a front office finance position through Rochester. The big financial institutions do not recruit at the school for front office positions.

Hi Intel,

Sorry I need to type in English cause my keyboard doesn't have chinese sticker.

Basically, the interview goes just like a regular job interview. The first question would be to describe yourself, including your academic and professional background. Then the interviewer would ask some further questions regarding what you answer. For example, you would definitely mention your school, and thus you have to prepare to be asked the reasons you chose your school and major. Probably you would be asked what your favorite course was and the reasons. This also applies to your work experience. Any way, review the essays and resume you submitted, and try to find questions for what you have mentioned in those paper. Also, if you have any gap in your resume, plan the explaination in advance in detail. And you will have a question for the reason you applied Simon School. Checking its website would be a great help to find the strength of the school and this would be a great answer. Then, what's your career goal in the near future. Note that your answer should match your program.

At last, you will be given the opportunity to ask questions. Be sure to ask some "safe" questions such as career planning support availability for students. And THAT'S IT!!

According to my experience, the interview went very well with no surpriing questions. After around 15 mins, the interviewer just started to chat with me regarding the weather in Toronto and other very easy stuff. My advise is to answer every question in detail and watch the gap in your resume. The questions will be very detail, such as "when you did it, how you did it, and what the result was". Prepare some projects you have completed or participated while you worked or studied.

I agree.
As an international student from Simon school, it is hard to get into IB as sales or IBankers. However, there are some reasons other than ranking. Such as culture barriers, language skills, personality, or networking efforts.

There are some IB come to Simon school to hire IBankers, such as UBS and Lehman Brothers. A few students (but not TW students) succeeded.

So it depends on not only how desperately and aggressively students want those IB jobs but also how students fit those job. We must fully understand what IB is and what our niche in that industry is before we pursue it.

I think I can voucher this confirmation a little bit. I have met couple TW Simon MBA graduates in Lehman, and they both are working in the middle/back office as well. However, I hear from them that a few TW '06 MBA graduates got into Citi's rotational program. I am not sure whether that's front or back office position.

其實我現在就在Simon念MSA
我會覺得rochester是一個很無聊的城市
他沒有大型華人超市
只有 小型的
不過 跟水牛城很近 所以 可以開車去買
夜生活不是沒有啦
也挺多的 只是沒有city那麼好玩
不過 Simon自己會辦很多的happy hour
就像spring quarter 幾乎每週都有happy hour
就看已是喜歡怎樣的生活
但是 羅城 真的很休閒
雖然無聊
但是 我還是挺喜歡的
因為生活沒有那麼急
至於就業機會呢
其實 具我知道 還是有些今年MBA畢業的學長姊都也找到好工作
不過 因為地點真的不是那麼好
所以 我覺得在找工作上 是真的有弱勢
若是有今年申請上Simon的朋友
需要詳細的介紹 可以再問我囉

Simon在金融界不是大牌名校

不會有各樣的IB、hedge fund、PE...前仆後繼的自己上門來找學生

但至少學校的reputation不差

如果心向前台的工作

則更要努力的去作networking才行

就如Bill說的一樣

要是你肯努力 加上合適的background

好機會還是有的

沒有道理台灣的學生會輸給印度仔
