B選項的文法錯了....

如果改成『Most of Portugal’s 250,000 university students boycotted classes in a one-day strike to protest a law that requires them to contribute $330 a year toward the cost of higher education, for which they previously paid $7 per year 』就可以了....

這題的考點在最後一個『，』那邊....只要能了解那個部分是一個附加說明前面的句子....那答案就呼之欲出了....

B選項沒有correctiveness錯誤，但effectiveness錯誤，個人覺得還不少。
1，用被動，使得動作的發出者不明。
2，句式上的不對稱沒有明顯的表現出前後的對比。
3，which優先指代cost，但實際上which指代higher education會更簡潔明確一些。當然這一點不能作為排除選項的理由。

不過真的就和 Bonus說的一樣，其實B 後半句文法沒有錯誤，是被動不好。

這一題該不會是想考對比。

(C),(E)對比寫法都不好，所以只好選 (D)

但是那個 instead of 看起來真的是有一點刺眼

請NN幫忙解釋一下吧

(A) paying 的句意不對: Ving 在附屬子句修飾主要子句表示同時,伴隨:學生不會"同時在之前"(矛盾語意)付 $7/yr.
(previously paying... 若放句首作分詞構句,意思就合理了)

(B) for 當介係詞 => 關係子句沒有主詞; for 當連接詞 => which = education 不會付錢

(C) toward... 有修飾歧異:若修飾前面插句,則扭曲句意,若修飾主要子句,則離太遠; previously 應該是 previous (i.e. 形容詞修飾名詞)

(D) toward... 位置擺對了; instead of... 獨立片語,修飾全句.

(E) 不簡潔; previously 雙向修飾

可以請教一下toward修飾歧異?這我真的不懂,因為若我把compared to當成插入句來看?那會有修飾問題?
我倒覺得C還有一個錯就是compared to的用法!

總覺得 (C) 的 compared... 應該放到句尾,因為 compared 比數字很清楚,其實不需要插在中間.
toward 可能修飾插句(以前的 $7 才是 toward higher education), 也可能修飾主要子句 ($330 是 toward higher education, 以前收 $7)

132的解釋中補充說明 gmat不區分compare to和compare with
所以這題應該跟with或to的用法無關吧??
