基本的判斷上出現了很大的問題
請好心人能指點迷津

舉例來說
Q14:
Guidebook writer: I have visited hotels throughout the country and have noticed that in those built before 1930 the quality of the original carpentry work is generally superior to that in hotels built afterward. Clearly carpenters working on hotels before 1930 typically worked with more skill, care, and effort than carpenters who have worked on hotels built subsequently.

Which of the following, if true, most seriously weakens the guidebook writer’s argument?

C. The materials available to carpenters working before 1930 were not significantly different in quality from the materials available to carpenters working after 1930.

題意:之前的品質比較好--->之前的技術.照顧比較好

請問大家
1.C是不是assume
之前的品質比較好----------->之前的技術.照顧比較好
+(C:若材料上又沒有不同的話)

在邏輯板上有兩位大大說C這是支持,好像也沒錯
再做了很多題目之後,隱隱約約有種感覺:
assume是不是support中最嚴格的一種?

2.E是支持嗎
題意:之前的品質比較好--->之前的技術.照顧比較好
支持是要跟前面(之前的品質比較好)也有關係
還是像E,只要支持結論(之前的技術.照顧比較好)就可稱為支持
假如是這個例子
ex:有考古學家發現之前的品質真的比之後的好(是支持嗎?!)

不太知道你想問的是什麼。不過我認為C是assume，E應該是weaken。題目問weaken，所以正確答案應該是E。

Assume =/= Support，這兩者不能混為一談。
Assume的意義是在某個前提之下，題目做出來的表現是適當的。
support是說，題目的走向會因為某個答案而更加強。

舉例而言：
題目說：A喜歡吃白木屋蛋糕。
Assume的答案可以是：蛋糕可食用。
Support的答案可以是：白木屋蛋糕的材料遠比別家的材料用得好。

如果用你所舉的這一題來看，題目所要比較的是1930年後的房子是否照顧較多，C說明了前提(材質相當)，所以可以比較，自然就有誰比誰照顧得好的結論產生。如果是support，答案就會是：1930年前的工人學習過某某高等技術，是現在工人學不到的。

1.(E)學徒的學習期間變短了, 所以手藝不精,應該是一個Support的選項吧?!

所以Support:白木屋蛋糕的材料遠比別家的材料用得好(我覺得很對)
如果是她是推論出來的:
A常常吃白木屋的蛋糕----->A喜歡吃白木屋的蛋糕
support:也可以是妳的答案<支持結論的>

還是必須是貫穿前後的答案
　(根據研究常常吃ㄧ家的蛋糕表示他喜歡吃這家的蛋糕)>_<舉的很爛

3.選項:

題目:每年增加的新工作比平均的薪水高----->平均薪水會每年變多
對於D我沒有疑問
但對於B(當他剛就任的時候,平均薪水是10年最低的)
所以我想說若每年增加的新工作比平均的薪水高,當然平均薪水會每年變多
但我沒考慮到也許被刪去的工作的薪水比新的工作高(舊>新>平均)

所以有可能是,有可能不是
這種不一定的答案,算不算支持
如果也算支持
這題是不是因為要找most strengthens所以選D

不好意思，昨天晚上沒看清楚後面的受詞，你說的對，E的確是個支持。答案是D正確。誤導了真抱歉。

支持的種類本來就有很多種，我舉的只是其中一項而已，至於你說的常常買來吃，我個人覺得要看題目選項而定，不一定是支持，常常買來吃很有可能是因為A居住地方偏遠，附近只有那麼一家白木屋可以吃，並不一定表示他真的愛吃，沒選擇而買跟喜歡而買是兩碼子事。

3.選項:
如果是A常常吃白木屋的蛋糕----->A喜歡吃白木屋的蛋糕
assume:她每次吃都吃的很乾淨
weaken:她在白木屋工作,下班老闆會發一盒

每次都吃得很乾淨，應該也不能算是假設，因為吃得很乾淨+常常吃，搞不好是因為同事生日不得已才吃。
至於你說的weaken，可以放在weaken的選項範圍之內。

這種不一定的答案,算不算支持
如果也算支持
這題是不是因為要找most strengthens所以選D

這題B沒有touch到題目的中心，應該是無關，我直覺就會刪掉了，不過我釋著解釋看看好了，average pay in the city 永遠都比mayor所create的 paycheck of the job要來的低，所以他是不是ten year low無關，就算題目說是ten year high，其實也是無關的。
