今天看到了一個公益廣告, 在不同國家好像有不同版本, 有些版我的電腦一直無法顯示, 分享我看到的二個版

沒記錯的話, 好像是在去年底Tsunami之後開始打的, 每次看, 都覺得很棒...

偶爾轉換各個新聞台, 不論是CNN也好, NHK也好 (雖然聽不懂), 都有節目在定期追蹤Tsunami之後的狀況, 反觀我們的新聞內容... 有的時候, 真的是除了嘆三聲, 不曉得說什麼才好...

campaign's background

The ONE Campaign grew out of the Heart of America tour in 2002, in which a busload of citizens and celebrities toured the mid-West in support of a new U.S. initiative on global AIDS. The success of that trip insured that a new constituency of Americans were raising their voices for Africa and needed to be heard. Together with the Better Safer World Campaign, representing nine of the largest, most effective private aid agencies (with 3 million supporters) working together to fight global poverty, and Bread for the World, a Christian voice for ending hunger for more than 30 years, the ONE campaign got off to a great start.

We launched the campaign in front of Independence Hall in Philadelphia on May 16 with the help of supporters like the NBA and U2's Bono, co-founder of DATA. Since then, over 100,000 people have signed the declaration to support an historic pact for compassion and justice – and help the poorest people in the world overcome AIDS and extreme poverty.

第一次sign the declaration, 看到的是 Taiwan, province of China, 就想放棄了, 想了一下, "愛心無國界", 就真的sign in 了. 重點是藉由每個人的發聲促使八大強國的leader來出面解決這世界問題

the upcoming event---G8 meeting
The G8, or the ‘Group of Eight’ Summit is an annual gathering of leaders from the world’s eight wealthiest and most powerful countries (Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States). This summer, these leaders will gather in Scotland to decide the fate of an entire generation living on less than ONE dollar a day. On July 6th - 8th, President Bush and other G8 leaders will discuss the major social, political and economic conditions that leave nearly ONE billion people living in extreme poverty – nearly half of whom live in Sub-Saharan Africa. With your support and voice, President Bush and other world leaders will know just how important these issues are, and together as ONE, we can Make Poverty History this July

這個活動提供了許多驚人的數字, 比如 5 million people were newly infected with AIDS last year, 58% of them were under 25. 很大的部份是著重在AIDS這個世紀大問題, 貧窮當然也包含其中, 而這個活動的deadline竟是2015年.
