On Team Work

Hi,

I am curious about how current MBAs deal with team work issues.
If most of your team mates do little home work before meeting and keep bullshiting ideas they can't defend, what would you do?

Since you can't shut them up and irritate every one else, the best (and only) solution may be to descend to mediocrity with the team? What if the class is important to you and you really need good grades?

Would appreciate if current students can share some valuable experiences.

It seems you have a few options:

1. Just take the leadership from this project, and subjectively delegate task (or do it all by yourself). If you trust your ability, you have the most control on your grade. On the other hand, you have to be careful of the group dynamics. If only 1 or 2 of your teammates are bullshitting, try banding with others so at least you have advantages in directing the group conversation. If all of them are bullshitting, you probably need to suck it up and do all the work yourself, and either just give them credit afterwards or kill them in the group review.

2. If you can't do it by yourself, then just let them bullshitting away, and try salvage it somewhat by doing some groundworks for them. Who knows? sometimes professors have strange grading policy ;)
