The drawback of Debit card is that it can't establish your personal credit. Without a credit history, you will probably encounter some inconveniences in your life in the states...

Yeah, the policy in the States in regards to issuing SSN to foreign students has changed. Most of students will not be able to get SSN anymore due to the 9-11 thing.

As far as the credit card, if you are not a US citizen or PR, you are not suppose to get a credit card anyway. By have a SSN number does not guarantee you to get a credit card.

呵 很久沒上來了
說個有趣的關於cash back的事
我在SCE 這次去Boston跨年時
我們這邊只有PNC這個賓州的小銀行
到了麻州根本看不到PNC的ATM
那跨行領錢又得扣手續費 我當然不想多浪費錢
但身上帶的現金又剛好不夠
此時突然想到趕快衝去找最近的Walmart
抓了一袋口香糖和一瓶牛奶後就馬上結帳
這時我在自助結帳櫃台時還分兩次結帳
每結一次帳就趕緊按出50元cash back
呵 排在我後面的美國人還用異眼看我這個一次買兩元左右東西的人
哈哈 沒辦法 身上沒現金 總不能停車時用debit card付吧
而且cash back讓你省時間不用在ATM排隊或是特地去銀行領錢
另一則笑話
我曾在Walmart見過大陸人在cash back後找不到領鈔口
然後還跑去問服務人員 哈 滿妙的
因為那個紙鈔口有點低到是真的
呵 來了這差不多半年了 但每天總還是有新鮮事會發生 哈
