Kellogg R2 interview waiver?

請問有沒有其他 applicants 有類似經驗, 我是 R2 applicant, 昨天收到 Kellogg 的 email 告知由於申請者大幅增加, alumni interview request 已經被 waive掉了....請問這是不是代表 possible ding? >"< 雖然通知上說明不需 take any extra action, 但是BW 上有人說可以打電話去 admission office 盧一下....請大家提供意見!!

因為round2是最多人的高峰期
在台灣的interviewer無法瞬間消化這麼多人
後續會有phone interview的邀請
通常是由adCom的人擔任

Yes, and that was what you've been told.
Just be patient. I don't think waiver meant anything but just the capacity could not accomondate.

I think that receiving the i/v waiver could also be a good news - it means they have gone through your part 1 and begin reading your part II and essays. So just be patient.

理論上您說的是正確的, 一次搞定參觀校園, 體驗上課, 以及面談. 但由於您一定再申請時勾選了校園外的校友面談, 因此可能需要先跟學校溝通一下, 看能否改成校園內的面談, 順便參觀學校.
很抱歉小弟沒有校園面談的經驗, 不過大致也應該就是那些問題吧

那請問

被waiver表示學校已經審核完文件並且對申請者有興趣, 但同上原因, 因為台灣流量太大不得不暫時擱著.

我想問問看應該無傷大雅. 學校應該都能夠體諒計畫的改變. 而且學校應該是鼓勵及歡迎申請者們儘量有機會可以先參觀學校.

Dear Kellogg perspectives,

Just now I went to the admissions office to express the concerns of the Taiwan students whose interviews are waived. Then the issue becomes whether this waiver will or not hurt the candidacy for the Kellogg application?

The answer I got from the admissions was NO! It is the official answer from the Kellogg admissions.

I was told by the admissions that it is the "total package" that the perspective student is being evaluated on, everything from work experiences to scores to interview performance. Hence if the admissions is more interested in the perspective student, then the admissions will direclty conctact the student for further actions, such as a telephone interview or potential face to face interview by the alumni.

Then here comes the potential question whether it will help if an on-campus interview is conducted by flying to Kellogg? The official answer from the admissions is that IT WILL NOT BE NECESSARY with all of the time and travel. Furthermore, the admissions told me that currently the number of interview requests is in high demand from the applicants.

Below are just my "PERSONAL" point of views, not representing the Kellogg admissions. Think of these are more personal views from a friend. I think whether to come or not really depends. If you have the resources and time and you are GOOD at interviews, then why not? I had the chance to meet and take a Taiwan perspective student to show this person around Kellogg at December. I think this person did learn a lot of the insiders' news by interacting with all of the Kellogg students introduced. All of these very personal experiences could be used as a great framework when trying to convince the admissions that this specific perspective has really done the homework and makes his or her story more "REAL" during interviews. Also this can serve as a test whether you will love the "WARM" weather of Chicago, ha ha ha.

However, of course this is NOT a requirement as the admissions just now told me to ask the perspectives to wait a bit more patiently as suggested by Zigen5 and Clark. Because actually a chunk of the evaluation comes from the total package than from the interview.

Ok now, then after all of the talk, am I BSing? Well, my objective is that I just wish to help to verify the information from the official source and from a current student as from time to time I see some feedbacks expressed here do not truly represent the school. Anyway, hopefully this can provide some opinions toward your application.
