搶救我！An essay q to the Katz B-school

我的問題：搞不清楚以下的essay要問的重點是什麼？

*Essay 2 of the application to the U of Pittsburgh MBA program :
Explain how you will contribute both as a student and subsequently as an alum to the Katz Graduate School of Business community. What importance do you place on this contribution and what qualities do you possess that will make you effective in these roles?

我的猜測：是在問我我跟其他學生比起來有什麼特別之處，讓學校非收我不可？並且因為我的特別之處，我可以付出跟其他學生不同的特別貢獻?

我的Solution：希望聽聽看申請過的人或是Katz的學生提點一下，如果得不到回覆，就用我的猜測來回答這題Essay

我認為就是很棒的想法，請不用擔心，你並不是在「猜測」也應該不需要搶救...

另外有一些不曉得標不標準的補充想法是:
1. 理論上貢獻可以分成特別跟不特別的，但我以為每個人對其他人其實都特別
2. 可能可以把這個問題分成身為學生時我能給這個學校什麼，以及畢業後，可以給這個「社群」什麼
3. 不管是第一點或第二點，能讓別人相信你真的會拿得出來這些貢獻最好
4. 第 2+3 點可能可以往 why MBA/why XXX school 寫。

比較標準的答案嘛...線上 office hour 是個好主意，尤其可以匿名。最標準的答案可能要想辦法找一位叫 Kelly 的女士，他是個好人 XD 不過這兩個管道都要明年一月二號以後才會上班...

1.感謝你的提點，想寫出特別的貢獻，很容易把我帶到死胡同，我想我會以"做我自己"來寫這些"貢獻"
2.分成學生和畢業後來寫，真是好見地，我已經把這兩個論點各當2,3段
3.讓人相信拿得出來，這個就難了，我想把這個難題丟回給Pitt校，盧成Why MBA
4.好見地，花錢去唸書，還要跟對方說我會給你什麼好康A，乾脆跟他說，我需要唸這個學位，來搞定這些事，所以你有收留我的責任！

線上office hour是什麼意思啊？我先照上面的作戰計畫來寫，1/2號在來做個最後修正，極度感謝你的幫助，日後還需要你多多觀照。

quick answer as a scholarship committee
it's not about why MBA
no need to repeat why mba in this precious opportunity
and it doesn't work on negotiation table to tell people why you're here
since all your competitors are already here now
and you're gonna tell the judge why you deserve this admission more than others do

it won't work either if you kick back the question to the school
since it's now your turn to explain why "you" deserve this admission instead of others

it's a negotiation process
what bargaining chips do you possess
when you can contribute more than others
both during studying and afterward
the school is more willing to grant you the admission but not your competitors
since it'll be the best benefit to the school

the importance is about your perceived value of participation in school
it depends on your attitude
but the higher importance you place
the more eager you appreciate "others' contribution"
since you treat your own contribution higher value
then you'll definitely more cautious about what you contribute
and you'll be more eager to learn from others

the same as your contribution quality
how many years of work experience do you possess
how sophisticated
and in what scope of business
the more experienced you are
the better the quality you can contribute

the higher quality you can contribute
the more benefits the school receives
and the more chance you'll be admitted
