GWD8-15

永遠是「句意」為上...文法次之...

ijac \$m[1]:我的做法是

A. Clouds are formed from the evaporation of the oceans’ water that is warmed by the Sun and rises high into the atmosphere, condensing in tiny droplets on minute particles of dust.
==> atmosphere condensing ..... 感覺很奇怪

B. Clouds form by the Sun’s warmth evaporating the water in the oceans, which rises high into the atmosphere, condensing in tiny droplets on minute particles of dust.
==> oceans rises high into.... 不可能

C. Warmed by the Sun, ocean water evaporates, rises high into the atmosphere, and condenses in tiny droplets on minute particles of dust to form clouds.
==> S是ocean water, 可以evaporates, rises high and condenses 所以正確

D. The water in the oceans evaporates, warmed by the Sun, rises high into the atmosphere, and condenses in tiny droplets on minute particles of dust, which forms clouds.
==> S是water, evaporates主動, warmed被動, rises主動, condeses主動, 不佳

E. Ocean water, warmed by the Sun, evaporates and rises high into the atmosphere, which then condenses in tiny droplets on minute particles of dust to form as clouds.
==>atmosphere condenses..... 應該不是正確的句意

請問
the water in the oceans, which rises
不可以看作是 water rises high into .... 嗎

還是說
可以
容易造成誤解??

而且這邊應該沒有
oceans rises high into ...的可能吧
oceans是複數說..

B是錯在被動文法,整個句子也很怪
which指的是water沒錯

多謝你拉
所以B是錯在
form 要改 formed

which 看起來是沒有問題的

我是認為which沒問題
可是整句話都錯了,從被動開始錯,分詞的用法也很怪

看到c就會很想選c,太平衡了

沒錯沒錯
而且副詞子句省略成獨立分詞片語的結構
只要不脫節

贏的機會很大

請問N1 of N2, which,which 95%是N1,所以B也可以說他是帶N1=water,這樣說對嗎?謝謝喔

(B) which會有問題-->整句找不到主要動詞。
(E) which扮演修飾語的角色,可是和先行詞離太遠。

其實這句看句意來選會最快。

請各位前輩指教。

(A) condensing (非限定用法)的主詞是 clouds

(B) Clouds form by the Sun’s warmth evaporating the water {in the oceans}, which rises high into the atmosphere, condensing ...
which 可能指 water (把 in the oceans 看成副詞),但我覺得更有可能指 oceans, 造成 rises 數量不一致,句意也不合理;
condensing 修飾全句, 但是修飾哪個句(clouds? which?) 有爭議,所以不明確;
form 可以是不及物,不需要改被動.
warmth 似乎應該用 heat.

(D) and 平衡兩個不應該加逗點; which = dust, or particles {of dust}.

(E) which = atmosphere (句意不合理.應該是 water 凝聚,不是大氣); form 可以當及物動詞 => form clouds

(A)
clouds are formed from the water -- 被動較不佳(觀察其他選項,有主動者較好)
ocean's water -- 無生命不用所有格
that is warmed .... -- that 指誰? evaporation of the water (N1 of N2)
condensing -- 修飾誰? 若是由 which condesnes 省略而來, 則修飾 atmosphere, 跟句意不符; 若是修飾整句的主要主詞 clouds, 也跟句意不符, 句意應為水蒸氣跑到大氣中跟灰塵顆粒結合

(B)
clouds form ... -- clouds 形成什麼? 句意應為水的蒸發然後一連串的變化形成雲
sun's warmth -- 無生命不用所有格
the water in the oceans -- 囉唆
which rises -- 根據 rises 判斷應修飾 the water, 句意不通, 海中的水上升到大氣中?
condensing -- 修飾誰? 和(A)有同樣的問題

(D)
the water in the oceans -- 囉唆
the water evaporates, rises, and condenses -- 共做三個動作, 可接受
warmed by the sun -- 往前修飾the water, 可接受
which forms clouds -- which 代替 dust, dust forms clouds句意不通

(E)
ocean water evaporates and rises -- 做兩個動作, 可接受
which then condenses -- which 代替 atmosphere, 句意不通

所以(C)最佳
warmed by the Sun -- 修飾主詞 ocean water
ocean water evaporates, rises, and condenses to form clouds

luckydog \$m[1]:小弟在看到這題的時候,第一個直覺想到的是莫北北所說的「主題移轉」的問題,原是的主題「感覺上」好像是說「雲的形成」,但是(C)的主題和主詞都變成了OCEAN WATER,不知道有沒有牛人可以針對這這個「主題移轉」這方面來討論??感恩!

i also think about this when i first did the questions. but later i think logic meaning and other grammatical mistakes cause A is wrong.
so, "meaning" is first factor!

在此請教大家,

從這題看來,

S+V+O that V + O, Ving 這樣的句型下,Ving會跳過that cl.

viewtopic.php?t=8478
這個整理,進來傷咖的人如果沒有看過,就像是去埃及卻沒找到金字塔一樣.
