請問一下(A)的選項啊
這個as 要+ did 嗎 ? 是省略掉了? 還是完全不用加?

我倒是覺得，這裡選A，是省略did
主要還是後面的civilizations與前面的civilization來做比較
at that time是時間副詞，主要就是這兩者的比較

原本the same...as前後比較的是an ancient cililization flourished 和the cililizations (flourished)

因為flourished之前出現過，所以要改成did
但此題可以省略did的原因是：省略不會造成句意混淆(an ancient cililization flourished後沒有其他名詞擾亂比較的對象)。所以有省略比沒省略好。

這個問題蠻有趣的, 我複習的時候沒考慮到說...

我倒是比較傾向同意agnes的看法, 覺得從 "at the same time as" 開始是在修飾flourished的, 也就是說, 句子講的是M-D這個地方古代文化flourish的時期是跟尼羅河三角洲一帶的文化同時期, 至於後者是否也是在那個時候flourish, 我覺得並不一定ㄟ, 所以覺得did 可能不是省略而是根本不需要...

Yes, I think so.

the same time as--> 目標是對比時間就好(這裡泛指大約那幾個文化期間),不一定比對verb-- flourished (不過這裡確實有省掉did的暗意)

所以如果加上:
flourished at the same time as the civilizations in the Nile delta and the river valleys of the Tigers and Euphrates were just beginning.
也不能說它錯,只是意思變了
(Ha Ha也許不夠美; beginning 可換一下sprouting)

civilization在同時flouriing不對嗎? 文明有"不間斷且持續"的用法很奇怪嗎?
在那個時間點持續著.....
所以不是很了解OG寫的 "that flourished is needed" 到底哪needed了?

時態上的問題
當主要句子為現在式但形容詞子句為過去式
此時形容詞子句不宜改成分詞因為會造成時態上的誤會
總不會現在 flourish吧

OG寫的 "that flourished is needed "就是這個意思

這樣有比較清楚嗎?
