查過了這題沒人問過
我想問的是(C)的語意很怪所以我沒選 stinger ... results in... 蜂針導至...
我是選了(E) 不過我不滿意with the result that ... 但是C更怪

有with的都不好，不如動詞直接乾脆
D也不好，distort the parallelism and wordy.

這提是要對ETS思路熟悉的"結構意義"題
用了幾個概念
1. 因果關係辭
2. 主軸一貫
3. 動作v.s 狀態
4. 對等連接無因果
5. 次要結構補述

看到原句有As
要知道這句是要表達因果關係
A的鬥號後this主辭重複不選

B鬥號後with是次要結構補述
拿掉不影響主要結構
但就會變成主軸改變
原文主軸是要講"因為刺會留在原地，所以蜜蜂會重傷"
可是with後若拿掉
主軸只講刺留在原地意義不完整
算改變句意

C中間兩鬥號是次要結構的分辭補述
插入語可以當沒看到
主軸一貫+執行動作造成原因
一氣呵成意義完整
direct and precise

D. and後面results的主辭移轉變成"刺留原地"那件事
且causing是分辭的次要結構補述一樣可以拿掉
變成"results in the act"導致一個行動
文法對但句意謬誤

E.鬥號後with補述同樣為次要結構可以拿掉
文句主軸變成只講"刺會留在原地"
主軸意義沒講完
算改變句意

如果把用來形容stinger的句子heavily barbed and staying where it is inserted拿掉,那麼整句剩下：
The honeybee’s stinger results in the fact that the act of stinging causes the bee to sustain a fatal injury.
句意上來看stinger results in一件事好像會有點怪怪的
應該是stinger所做的一些動作造成後面的result

E.The honeybee’s stinger is heavily barbed and staying where it is inserted, with the result that the act of stinging causes the bee to sustain a fatal injury.
with the result that 的伴隨，帶出前面整句話stinger is heavily barbed and staying where it is inserted所造成的result，是不是就句意上來說比較合理？

C的句意真的很奇怪
不敢選
但答案竟然是C

我也選E,不過用with不是十分簡潔
就C來講個人認為沒有必要用" the fact that",因為後面的"the act of..."不就可以代表後面的動作了嗎?

我昨天看到the fact和句意不對就跳過去了
剛剛去CD看了一下
很多人支持E
現在還是覺得E最好
不知大家有沒有其他想法

我本來也是選C...但如同樓上幾位講的,
如果將C逗號中間的省掉不看,
那不就變成了--> The honeybee’s stinger... results in the fact that the act of stinging causes
這樣在語意上好像不正確吧....

E的with the result that....是不如C來的簡潔~
但好像在語意上比較不會產生歧意喔...?? :^)
