我的解法是這題考插入句....

If a single strain of plant is used for a given crop over a wide area, a practice fostered by modern seed-marketing methods, it increases the likelihood that the impact of a single crop disease or pest will be disastrous.

紅色部分在兩個逗號中間....它的作用應該是要解釋前面這一句中If裡面的一整句話.....

從平衡來看a practice應該要有對應被解釋的名詞.....E中的主詞the use最好...

至於句意有沒有重組.....我個人的看法是有了likelihood何必用If子句?這裡應該犯了Redundancy......

不過我對E的答案有點小小不滿意...因為它single strain和plant前面都沒有加冠詞a.....這點疑惑有人可以幫我解答嗎?

改掉if子句，又補了個the use在前頭，冠詞不妨省略，可以簡潔一些

你這一題解的不錯，特別是use那個解釋，讓我想到OG39題，有一題矛與盾的修辭
倒是有一句題外話想問，插入句、同謂語、或是像考古題中有一題太空梭失事，莫老師用a practice 代替"加班工作"那一題，都會有類似像插入句的型式，但實際上，三者有何差異呢?
