只隱約覺得.....猜想.....
題目的意思是airspace 和 aircraft 做比較，所以都用動詞形式
regard their airspace as extending upward as high as an aircraft can fly

不知道大家的想法是...

我覺得你這個point不錯
可以解釋為什麼 regard N1 as N2，只是省略常是因為跟前句或是and前面有一樣的東西才省，醬的省略有點奇怪
這一題我看了CD的討論很久，還是沒定論

是省略了”the airspace "嗎？

今天也剛好看此題，白勇語法裡面只說upward跟high都是副詞，the extend是名詞，extending是形容詞，所以選形容詞。

但我的問題還是在於為何名詞airspace可以跟一個形容詞相比？到底省略了什麼呢？

難道原句是Most nations regard their airspace as (the airspace which) extends upward as high as an aircraft can fly嗎？

（去掉the airspace which後面，extend改分詞）

查了字典,好像是這樣.
as 的意思應該是關係代名詞的用法:
Most nations regard their airspace as extends upward as high as an aircraft can fly.
但是regard..as + N
as 在 reard..as 的片語裡是介係詞, extends 就只好改成現在分詞.
再研究研究吧!

像這樣解釋起來很遷強的句子,最好的方式就是用背的,背這個用法: regard..as+分詞,讓它變得理所當然.700分以上會遇上的機率頗高.猜對了分數就上去了.連美國人都搞不清楚的語法,我們還是要有解決的方法.

(B)不能選的原因是upward必須跟著動詞以完成句意.
